Stationary Lab

Monitoring testing at The Usability Center at SPSU

The Usability Center's stationary lab has the following state-of-the-art features and equipment:

  • Spacious control room containing capture and logging systems along with a bank of video monitors.
  • Direct-feed video can be seen from the executive viewing room complete with clear window enabling you to observe what is being recorded and observe the participant directly.
  • Three wall-mounted cameras in the evaluation room capture all essential data from the user.
  • A picture-in-picture digital mixing board
  • DVD for recording sessions
  • Commercial event logging software
  • Phone/intercom for help calls from the participant
  • One-way mirror from control room to evaluation room
  • Lighting controls in both evaluation and control rooms
  • White noise diffuser

The Usability Center can accommodate almost any hardware or software that is required for your testing.

We can install your software on:

  • a server on our LAN
  • the participant's computer
  • or the participant can access your website over the Internet using our high-speed connection.
